I'm Ava Stucci, a designer and technologist. I design technology and how people interact with it. My focus is AI safety that scales with the technology itself, embedding human agency, critical engagement, and legibility into these systems as they grow.

Right now I'm the technical co-founder of Elm Careers, building ELM: an AI career advisor for high school students aged 14–17. Putting a frontier model in the hands of young, vulnerable users turns the questions I keep returning to into concrete design problems — how to guide someone without making them dependent, and how to keep them able to question and steer the model rather than defer to it.

That work sits at the end of a decade-long independent creative technology practice, Studio AVA, sustained across Australia, Germany, the US, France and Singapore. My practice focuses on the places where people meet technology, and on making those systems legible through digital and material experiments — spanning cultural programming, Web3-native storytelling, systems design, and performance.

I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Cognitive and Brain Sciences at Macquarie University, deepening a working understanding of how people think alongside technology, and what happens to that when a machine starts doing some of the thinking.
